9th Entebbe Chairman’s Golf Cup

Each passing year has been a golden coating for the annual Entebbe Chairman’s Golf Cup tournament.
For the past 8 years that the event has been organized at the picturesque lake side facility founded in 1901 and every other tournament has been a complete blend.
Come the 9th edition, with a new partner on board surely the tournament will not remain the same.
For starters, the event is held every year to celebrate the chairmanship of the reigning leaders at the club.
This Saturday, the over 240 golfers expected will tee off for a bold purpose, ambition and mission at stake.
First things first, there is a grand prize for a successful hole in one specialist – a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicle worth $88,000.
Golfers as usual will optimally use the platform to network on the course and after during the famous 19th hole experience.
The 2017 tournament edition was officially launched on Wednesday at Redstone House in Bugolobi, Kampala.
While addressing journalists at the launch, Kwame Ejalu, the chairperson of Afrisafe Risk Consultants, announced a Shs80M sponsorship package.
He also pledged continued support and working relations with the historical golfing club.
Afrisafe has injected into this year’s event Shs.80M and pledge to associate further with Entebbe Golf Club.
The money will be used in the organization and prizes as well for the best golfers.
Hole in One Challenge
There is a special challenge for the hole in one winner of the Jeep Grand Cherokee on a par 3 hole that will be revealed on the tournament day.
Entebbe Club chairman Twinemanzi Tumubweine expressed gratitude towards the sponsors and assured the golfers of a great round of the swing, approach and putting game.

Professionals in the frey
The professionals have also not been left out of the box. The total kitty for the professionals is Shs.10M in a bid to spice up the tourney.
Entebbe Club Executive committee member Marvin Kagoro predicts a great round of golf for the members.
Personally, I eager and longing for a round of golf on Saturday during the Afrisafe Entebbe Chairman’s cup.
It will be yet another day to play golf, smile and definitely have a go at the grand prize.
Apart from golf, the event will also have guests feature in a raffle draw where they stand to win a one year insurance of personal accident insurance policy worth Shs.500,000,000 or a house insurance for the full value of the winner’s residence.
In the same vein, a number of golfers will further use the opportunity to sharpen their skills ahead of the prestigious 75th Uganda Open.
