
Unless rescinded, Uganda Cranes pair of Murushid Jjuuko and Khalid Aucho will miss the penultimate FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifiers tie against Ghana.
The Cranes, second in Group E with seven points host the Black Stars on the weekend of October 6-8, 2017 at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.
Jjuuko and Aucho were booked in the 74th and 90+1 minutes respectively in the 1-0 loss to Egypt in Alexandria and have now accumulated two Yellow Cards in the campaign.
Ironically, the two got booked in same matches – the first against Ghana in Kumasi which ended goalless.
Jjuuko was booked in the 35th minute against the Black Stars while Aucho got into the referee’s book in the 67th minute.
In the same game, Nicholas Wadada earned a 59th yellow card.
No Ugandan player was booked in the 1-0 win over Congo Brazzaville but Denis Onyango (82nd) and Godfrey Walusimbi (2nd) were booked at Namboole against Egypt.
Meanwhile, according to the match report on the FIFA website, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda is the name in the book and not Walusimbi.
Fate
As fate would have it, the two players also missed the 1-0 loss to Ghana in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations due to suspension.
