Uganda Cranes midfielder Khalid Aucho (2nd L) celebrates a goal with his former teammates at Baroka Swallows, Aucho and Cranes captain Geoffrey Massa were released by the South African Club.

Egyptian club Zamalek SC have released their season squad with earlier linked Uganda Cranes midfielder Khalid Aucho not part of it.

It had been reported on Thursday that the midfield maestro was destined for a possible move to the outfit but after the transfer window closed, the club released their full squad for the 2017/2018 season, the Ugandan missing.

According to Khalid Aucho’s agent Geoffrey Kayemba, Zamalek had “contacted” the star, but he couldn’t get the depth of every detail.

Moments after the story made rounds, a journalist in Egypt with Kingfut revealed how a “former Egypt NT player” who is now an agent, had taken “Khalid Aucho from his hotel in Alexandria to propose him to Zamalek,” but the club didn’t “like him.”

Fresh reports have now sprung up with the player linked to former Uganda Cranes’ coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s side Orlando Pirates in South Africa.

Neither Micho nor Orlando Pirates have yet confirmed interest in Aucho, and the reports may be deemed unreliable until a concrete stance is officially communicated.

The former Simba SC, Gor Mahia and Tusker FC midfield gem was linked a move to Ibrox last summer before joining the Dons on trial, only for the move to fail with allegations that his club asked insane transfer fees.

He later had trials at Dundee FC in Scotland which were equally not fruitful. He spent last season with Red Star Belgrade and OFK Beograd in Serbia and is currently a free agent.
