Mike Mutebi admitted his KCCA side were average in the goalless draw with Maroons on the opening day of the campaign.

The hosts were pre-match favourites but were fortunate to pick a point against a side that dominated from the first whistle.

Mutebi, former manager at Maroons conceded the opponents were the better side.

“We played a good, organised side,” Mutebi told the press. “They gave us a good test. Our important players didn’t show up,” he added.

We looked average and didn’t create enough chances. It’s a wake-up call. It’s not a good start but we will be among the five to compete for the league.

The defending champions owe much to second choice goalie Charles Lukwago who made four superb saves to deny the visitors.

The Kasasiro’s next game is an away trip to UPDF in Bombo.
