Two time Uganda Premier League winners Vipers Sports Club will entertain Jinja side BUL at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Friday.

Both Vipers and BUL played to goalless draws during match day one games on Tuesday.

BUL was held debutants Mbarara City as Vipers were also forced into a stalemate by a 10 man Bright Stars outfit at the champions stadium in Mwererwe.

Coming to the game, either technical benches are expected to change the game strategy and plan for this encounter.

For obvious reasons, BUL shall be expected to approach the game cautiously, like a typical team on an away mission.

Add to the fact that they are playing at an intimidating ground – St Mary’s stadium where Vipers has been as solid and compact (in the league) since the ground was re-opened early this year.

Uganda Cranes Ex-international Kefa Kisala, at the helm of BUL is well aware of such ties and would not love to be tagged as an under-dog ahead of the game.

Kisala is expected to name more or less the line up that played on match day one.

On loan players Brian Kakaire and Patrick Sembuya will miss the duel due to contractual clauses.

Kisala has a selection headache with the rich crop of talent at his disposal in Yunus Sibira, Fred Agandu, Hakim Magombe, Shaka Ssozi, Mike Ndera, Patrick Asiku, Hassan Musana, Abu Mayanja, James Otimm, Daniel Shabena, Richard Wandyaka as well as the goalkeepers Muhammed Didi and Hannington Ssebwalunyo.

His counter part, the Portugese Miguel Da Costa will still dearly miss the services of newly acquired target man Moussa Clovis Mbayi.

Despite having a great pre-season, Mbayi sustained an hamstring that has since kept him out for close to three weeks including the season opener against Bright Stars.

Left winger Duncan Sseninde could be passed fit for the game after missing the trip to Mwererwe whilst midfielder Moses Waiswa will also misses out for an hamstring ailment.

The other usual suspects Erisa Ssekisambu, Milton Karisa, goalkeeper  Isma Watenga, skipper Nico Wakiro Wadada, Yaya Lutimba, Tony Odur, Mike Sserumaga, Mike Mukwala, Brian Nkuubi, Tadeo Lwanga, Deus Bukenya are all available for selection.

“We are focused on winning the game. We are playing at home and our fans should expect the best from the team,” Vipers captain Wadada told the club media.

Maximum points for either sides will be an early incentive and advantage for any of the two sides.
