When Soana Football Club hosts new entrants Masavu in the Uganda Premier League on Tuesday, Shafiq Bisaso will be under the spot light.

For starters, Bisaso is the head coach at Soana and once handled Masavu in the FUFA Big League.

During the opening two matches for Soana, Bisaso and his charges have not won a match, losing 1-0 to Sports Club Villa in Masaka on the opening day before being held at home to a one-all draw by Bright Stars.

On Tuesday evening, Soana targets nothing than maximum points from the league debutants.

“We need this match and that is the reason, I have personally spoke to the players about the significance of this match. We need to start winning. Masavu is a defensive side but we shall break them,” Soana owner Smart Obed told Kawowo Sports.

Obed’s urge for maximum points was also underlined in bold by Bisaso, who watched Masavu win narrowly 1-0 against Proline last Saturday.

“I have an idea of the players they have and how they play. The match will be a do or die affair,” Bisaso disclosed.

In Emmanuel Kalyowa, Allan Kayiwa, robust center forward Anthony Bongole, midfielders Paddy Muhumuza, Baker Lukooya, Osama Wejuli and goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige, Soana has the impetus and due experience to work for maximum points at home.

Masavu’s coach Alex Gitta has promised to ring two or three changes from the side that won at Lugogo against Proline.

Gitta, who formerly worked as Technical Director for Masavu during the FUFA Big League era notes;

We shall make some changes to accommodate the players whose licensing process has just been completed.

We shall approach the match with caution because there is need to maintain the winning run.

Right back Philly Lutaaya is expected to start ahead of Moses Kiggundu, who was fielded first against Proline.

Midfielder Onesmas Andama, a second half replacement for former Express player Charles ‘Napia’ Wamala could also start alongside Sulaiman Mutta.

The prodigal son Abraham Ndugwa, scorer of the lone strike at Lugogo will maintain the forward role with the tried and tested Ivan Lubaale.

Pacy winger Fred Umon could start on the right flank.

Experienced left back Sande Mukiibi, Sulaiman Ochero and goalkeeper Mansur Kiwanuka are other important players for team Masavu.
