[/media-credit] Innocent Kinyera displays his winner’s medal
Ugandan midfielder Innocent Kinyera was in scintillating form for his club Al Salaam Wau during their 4-0 victory over Abeyi City in the final of the 2017 South Sudan cup.
Kinyera, a former Baza Holdings player in the FUFA Big league scored twice and created the others as they lifted the trophy for the Wau state.
Like during the semi-finals against Kwajok based Tiger F.C , Kinyera, Simon Messi and Khalid Juma were also on target.
“I am happy to have been on the score sheet and to see my club win on the day. So happy for the rest of my teammates,” Kinyera told Kawowo Sports.
Last year, Al Salaam Wau also won the championship, after overcoming Torit Young stars in a closely contested final.
This Saturday, Al Salaam Wau will face Al Hilal of Juba in the national finals.
A number of Ugandans play professionally in the South Sudan top flight and lower division leagues.
