After falling 11-6 in their opening match against Isabeti, reigning champions of the National Beach Soccer League, Makerere University Business School (MUBS) edged debutants Mutoola beach 5-4 at Lido on Sunday.
Frank Bamboka’s brace led the way for MUBS. This was followed by Derrick Kiyega who also scored twice and Andrew Obonyo’s final strike.
Mutoola Beach, playing their second game in the league after being promoted scored through Tomasi Kimuli (3) and Godfrey Mukiibi.
MUBS led the opening two periods of the game 3-0 and 2-0. For the final period, the game ended 2 all.
The Nakawa based club, missing the services of their head coach Charles Ayikeho Lukula perfectly recovered from the early humiliation to Isabeti.
In the other matches, Emmanuel Kalyowa scored 4 goals in St Lawrence University’s 7-3 victory against Kampala International University (KIU). Swalleh Kiggundu added a hat-trick for St Lawrence University.
Nigerian import Isaac Eshioke got a brace and Ssempa Kyobe were the scorers for Kampala International University (KIU).
Isabeti also won 4-2 against Stormers.
Nkumba University were 6-1 winners against MS Sand Lions.
