As the Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) head to Naivasha this weekend, Karan Patel is optimistic of a top finish that will serve his title ambitions.

The 26-year-old hopes to pick from his previous performance in Fly540 Rally were he finished third overall moving within the title contention gap.

“I will definitely push hard to try and put up a fight and may be go for the win. We believe that our car is ready and worthy for a championship win.”

Patel is currently fifth on the KNRC leaderboard with 13 points behind leader Ian Duncan.

“I believe I have a good chance at winning the championship but I will leave it to God to decide whether its my time to win a championship or just a rally,” says Patel.

He however heads to Guru Nanak Rally putting in mind the tight fight that awaits.

“Well, I have come to respect and appreciate the skills that my fellow competitors hold and I hope that the best driver wins. But that will not stop my effort to aim for a win,” he added.

Patel will have James Mwangi calling the pace notes in a Mitsubishi Evo X.
