Samuel Kayongo returned to Police FC training after missing four matches before the international break.

The central midfielder signed from Kiira last played in the 2-2 draw with Vipers in a pre-season friendly and could make his competitive debut against the same opponents on Saturday.

Kayongo was one of the most impressive players at the Kibuli based club during pre-season and there were few signs of the Cops missing the hardworking midfielder despite an impressive start to the campaign.

“We can’t wait to have him back,” said Abdallah Mubiru, the Police FC Coach. “He is a very important player for us,” he added.

“Given the squad we have, we need to have everyone around fit and ready to play.”

Kayongo’s return increases Mubiru’s options in defensive midfield that already has Shakur Makeera and the versatile Rahmat Ssenfuka.

Police’s next league game is on Saturday against Vipers in the top of the table clash at Namboole.
