Shafiq Bisaso has on Wednesday morning tendered in his resignation as head coach at Soana Football Club.
The shocking development comes just hours to the club’s crucial game against Vipers at the St Mary’s stadium Kitende on today.
In a brief interview with the CAF ‘A’ certified tactician moments after his resignation, he cited undue pressure and a couple of undisclosed underlying forces for the decision.
“The situation has been unbearable… I have made the decision for the good of the club,” the former SC Villa and Masavu coach said. “I admit, this is a painful but worthy decision,” he added.
Bisaso has been at the helm of the club since August when he succeeded Alex Isabirye who resigned for greener pastures.
Club director Obed admitted that indeed Bisaso had resigned.
“Yes, he (Shafiq Bisaso) has resigned. I will handle the club myself,” Obed joked.
In 5 league matches in charge, Bisaso has managed just a single win against Masavu on Match Day 2.
Soana has two draws and losses as they linger in relegation zone with just 5 points, same as Mbarara City, Maroons and Jinja side, BUL.
Bisaso’s immediate assistant Katono Mutono will handle the club on interim basis, starting with the Vipers match.
