Maroons Football Club hard working right back Eddy Kapampa has singled out the team’s true fighting spirit for the recent flash of form.

Kampampa who assisted in their 1-0 victory against  Masavu at the Fisheries Training Institute in Bugonga lauds the fighting element haboured by all the players.

“We are playing like warriors,” he said. “Each of the players and every member on the technical team loves the job,” he added.

“We have shown the true fighting spirit in the recent matches. We earned a  win away to Bright Stars, fought for a point against SC Villa at home and we have now won away to Masavu.”

Kapampa’s well curled corner was headed home by second half substitute Solomon Walusimbi with less than 10 minutes left on the clock.

Walusimbi had moments earlier replaced William Wadri before he scored past a stranded Masavu goalkeeper, Ali Kiggundu.

On how the club has managed to work for the best results in recent matches, Kapampa points to the collective play and incredible team chemistry.

Surely, we have been together for quite some time. There are just a couple of new faces but still they have also managed to adjust accordingly in a record time.

We are a happy family. At the back-line, there is supportive play at all the times including the goalkeeper. Take an example, when the other full back moves, we cover accordingly.

There is also good chemistry with Silver Okello, Allan Anguyo, Richard Ayiko or any other person fielded.

Maroons has 9 points and sit 9th on the 16 team log.

Their next engagement is at home to Proline on Tuesday, 31st October 2017.
