The second round of Uganda Premier League (UPL) has been scheduled to kick off on Saturday February 10.
The league broke off for the first half break on December 23 to allow Uganda Cranes prepare for the Africa Nations Championship but has since been eliminated.
“Tentatively,” UPL CEO Bernard Bainamani is quoted on the UPL website, “the second round of the league resumes on February 10, next Saturday.”
Second round fixtures are expected to be released anytime now.
Former league winners and the record champions SC Villa lead the standings with 32 points followed closely by reigning champions KCCA and Vipers in second and third respectively.
Preparations
Most teams have used the break to reinforce their squads with KCCA and Express FC the busiest in recruitment so far.
The Kasasiro have already confirmed six new signings while there is an expected overhaul at Wankulukuku as the club fights the relegation monster.
