
Sports Club Villa Jogoo is close to signing the 2016/17 Zambia Premier League winner (with Zesco United) Davis Kasirye on loan.
The arrival of Kasirye follows close negotiations between the Jogoos, Zesco United and the player’s representative, Ronnie Santos Mwine.
“I confirm that the negotiations are progressing well and Kasirye will play for us for the second round of the league of all plans move well” Sports Club Villa Jogoo head coach, Wasswa Bbosa confirmed on Wednesday.
The lanky Ugandan striker had completed the transfer to Zambia Premier League winners Zesco United from DR Congo side, Darling Club Motema Pembe in August 2017.
Kasirye had previously played at Express, URA and BUL in the Uganda Premier League.
Between 2015 and 2016, he was in Rwanda with Rayon Sports, guiding the club to the cup crown.
Two years ago, Kasirye completed a dream move from Rayon Sports to Darling Club Motema Pembe for a juicy transfer fee of $90,000.
He will become the third SC Villa Jogoo signing in the mid season after the capture of former Masavu and Buddu Ssaza goalkeeper Yusuf Wasswa as well as former Simba left back Arthur Kiggundu.
If successful, Kasirye will join a legion of forwards at the club including Alex Ssemuyaba, Yubu Bogere and Alex ‘Benzema’ Kitata.
Before he secures the domestic licence, Kasirye will await the formal paper that includes the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) after through the Transfer Matching System (TMS).
