Golfers in Uganda and across the East African region are eagerly awaiting an epic season as the Uganda Golf Union (UGU) calendar is out.

Every calendar month is pre-occupied with an event or two.

With the national team qualifiers done and dusted in January, the second month of the year has the Venus Open in Toro and the opening round of the Windhoek Open.

There will be four rounds for the Windhoek Lager open that will climax on 5th May 2018.

The most prestigious event, the Uganda Open shall tee off on 5th September 2018 and climax on three days later at the Uganda Golf Club in Kampala.

The Pro Open will come two weeks later at the same club.

National Teams

There are plenty of events for the national teams.

There will be one regional meet and two continental championships for the national team.

As early as March, the Junior national team will depart for the Africa Junior Championship slated for Casablanca in Morocco.

In April, the national team will play at the Zone V event in Harare as well as two tournaments in Kenya.

The first event will be the Victoria Cup in April and the East African Challenge come August.
