The final list of Silverbacks that will play at the first round of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifiers has been released.

Warriors’ Mark Opio and Syrus Kiviiri are part of the six guards on the team. The others are Jimmy Enabu, Robinson Opong as well as returning Josh Johnson and Samuel Mukooza who last played for the team at the 2015 FIBA Afrobasket.

City Oilers’ James Okello and Warriors’ Stanley Mugerwa join usual suspects Stephen Omony, Joseph Ikong and Stanley Ocitti in the front court department.

Brandon Sebirumbi who also last played at the 2015 Afrobasket returns to the fold to complete the twelve-man squad.

The qualifiers tournament will be played from February 23-25 in Bamako, Mali and the Silverbacks need to finish among the top three in a group that has Rwanda, Nigeria and hosts Mali to make the final phase of the qualifiers.
