Vipers SC avenged back to back defeats to Police FC by beating the Cops 3-1 in the round of 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Milton Karisa, Erisa Ssekisambu and Daniel ‘Mzee’ Sserunkuma scored for the hosts to cancel out Norman Ojik’s early goal for the visitors.

Ojik put the Cops in the lead inside two minutes with a well taken goal that left goalie James Alitho with no chance but five minutes later, Kariisa drew Da Costa’s side level with a header off Yayo Lutimba cross.

Ssekisambu put the hosts in the lead for the first time with a solo effort in the 25th minute.

Referee Brian Nsubuga then sent Abdallah Mubiru, the Police coach into the stands for over complaining on the touchline as the hosts lead at half time.

The Cops chance of a comeback at the St. Mary’s Kitende just like it was in a pre-season friendly when the two teams drew 2-2 was dealt a blow when Sserunkuma extended the hosts lead.

From then on, it was one way traffic with Karisa and Ssekisambu giving the shaky Cops backline constant headache but there was no change to the score line.

Prior to this fixture, Police had won twice in as many league games against the Venoms and had eliminated the Kitende based side four out of five previous meetings in the Uganda Cup.
