Somali Premier League:
- Banadir Sports Club 0-1 Dekeeda F.C
Banadir Sports Club lost 1-0 to Somalia Premier League reigning champions Dekeeda on Monday.
Home to former Uganda Cranes and Sports Club Villa striker Hussein Mbalangu (head coach), Banadir suffered their their second loss in the current season.
Mbalangu, in an interview with Kawowo Sports after the game attributed the loss to sheer luck;
It is bad that we lost to the defending champion Dekeeda Football Club.
Since i went in Somalia in the 2014- 2015 season, my first game was against Dekeeda in second round of and we again lost 1-0. In the next season, we were unbeaten but again two games with them.
In the 2015/16 season, Dekeeda halted Banadir’s unbeaten run of 30 games.
Last season, Dekeeda condemned Mbalagu and his charges in the first round tie before painfully losing the championship after the season round match by a point following a one all stalemate.
Focus for Mbalangu now dwells upon the up-coming match next Tuesday against Macdababa Football Club in the Somalia capital, Mogadishu.
Banadir is now fourth on the 10 team log with seven points from four matches.
Dekeeda Football Club leads the standings with 13 points from five games so far.
