- Wydad Athletic Clubs Vs TP Mazembe – Stade Mohammed V, Casablanca 7.30pm (EAT)

TP Mazembe coach Mihayo Kazembe seeks to make history when his side faces Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club in the 2018 CAF Super Cup.
Kazembe who won the competition as a player with the Congolese giants now wants to win the competition as a coach of the reigning CAF Confederation Cup.
“It will be a match between two great African clubs,” he told the pre-match press conference. “It will be an open game because both teams have experience at this level,” he added.
Personally, the CAF Super Cup means a lot and I would like to win it as a coach. I want to make history with this trophy that I won as a player. I won a lot of titles as a player and coach with the likes of Lamine N’Diaye, Diego Garzitto, Patrice Carteron, Hubert Velud etc, and now it is time to write my piece of history.
Kazembe admitted his side will be under more pressure following a very successful last year.
“There is pressure on us because after a successful season last year, expectations are high of us,” he revealed before heaping praise on opponents. “Wydad has a good history at the continental level and has an experienced squad which is a source of players for the Moroccan national team.
We saw most of such players during the just ended Total African Nations Championship, which Morocco won.
But Kazembe has a game plan to counter the Moroccans style of play and says the preparations have been good prior to the game.
We will devise a strategy to counter their play to achieve the desired result. Teams from the Maghreb have a similar style of play and we are used to that.
Our preparations have been in good order towards the match and we are looking forward to victory.
The Congolese side has won the Super Cup thrice in 2010, 2011 and 2016. They lost to Mamelodi Sundowns last year.
