Uganda Cranes coach Sebestien Desabre thinks there are player who could have played in the Africa Nations Championship but were left out.

The French tactician revealed this after watching over six league games since he returned from the break following Cranes’ early exit from the CHAN competition.

In an interview with Monitor Sport, he said he has to choose players who can adapt to his philosophy.

“I have my game philosophy. I need to choose players who adapt my philosophy,” he said. “I have been in the country for 20 days and seen many things,” he stressed.

I saw five, six games (league and Cup) and saw some players in the league who could have played in the Chan.

After Chan, I have also seen players in Vipers and Onduparaka who could have helped us during the Chan.

Nevertheless, he says that players who played at the competition in Morocco also deserved their places since they had been considered for CECAFA and COSAFA.

The players had played in the Cecafa (Senior Challenge Cup) and (the Cosafa) U20 Championships so they were the ones who deserved to be there.

Desabre was appointed a couple of days to the CHAN tournament and he came in a day after the squad was called.

  1. I thought it was unfair for De Sabre to take charge of CHAN but it was a learning experience for him and FUFA.

The future is bright and he is the right man for the job.
