With less than a week to South Africa’s biggest game that pits Orlando Pirates against Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says the fixture is no longer the biggest.

The outspoken tactician revealed this after his side’s draw with SuperSport United in the Tshwane derby insisting the two giants only have much history.

“The game draws up to the occasion, it’s the Tshwane derby,” Mosimane said in the aftermath of his and Denis Onyango’s draw with SuperSport United.

For me it’s the biggest derby. On the pitch it’s the biggest derby and on the grandstand it’s not the biggest derby.

You must also understand how old is SuperSport United and you must also understand how old is Mamelodi Sundowns. We don’t have the tradition of 1970, 69 or whatever years to build up this kind of derby.

Sundowns top the PSL standings with 40 points in 22 games, 4 and 5 better than second and third placed Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs respectively while SuperSport United lie 12th with 26 points.
