Fred Amaku scored the lone strike on the day as Kirinya-Jinja S.S outwitted Arua based club, Onduparaka at the Kyabazinga Stadium in Jinja on Saturday.

The diminutive center forward scored in the 16th minute of the game as Charles Ayiekho Lukula’s side strolled to their 8th victory of the season in 19 games.

The goal arose after a long ball from captain Godfrey Akol found a well stationed Musa Esenu who brushed it to the path of Amaku before beating Onduparaka goalkeeper Nicholas Ssebwato from close range off an acute angle.

It was Amaku’s seventh goal of the season, three shy of the league leading marksman, Daniel ‘Muzeyi’ Sserunkuma.

Earlier before the goal, Cameroonian import Laundry Makon had an effort kiss the wood work with the visitors defence and goalkeeper beaten.

Midfielder Jerome Kirya replaced Bashir Mutanda three minutes after the hour mark for Kirinya-Jinja S.S.

Amaku paved way for Joel Madondo with 10 minutes left on the clock.

FIFA Referee Brian Miiro Nsubuga booked Kirinya-Jinja S.S’ Allan Drajua and Onduparaka’s Faizul Anini.

Kirinya – Jinja S.S jumps from seventh place to fifth on the team log with 28 points.
