Bright Stars Football Club is desperate to revenge their first round loss to Sports Club Villa Jogoo in Masaka.
For starters, SC Villa Jogoo scored a late goal when the two sides faced off in Masaka during the first round.
The match on Saturday will therefore present the home side with the opportune plat form to avenge in equal measure.
“We are ready to work hard and get a decent result. We are at home and not under any sort of pressure” stand in head coach at Bright Stars, Paul Kiwanuka noted.
Kiwanuka continues to take charge of Bright Stars at a time head coach Fred Kajoba is in the United States of America for a coaching course.
The Jogoos, coming from a convincing 3-0 home victory against Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) on Wednesday will pray they click on the right buttons once again for maximum points.
Although a draw will be good enough for the Jogoos to return to the top of the league, Wasswa Bbosa and the rest of his charges are well aware, it will be doom as far as their title chase aspirations are concerned.
“We are treating each game as special as the last one. Therefore, we have respect for Bright Stars but will fight hard to work for the maximum points. That is our number one target” Bbosa noted.
No doubt, Bright Stars’ star player of the season has been their captain and lead striker Nelson Senkatuka.
The former KCCA and Proline center forward will once again target leading his side with the due charisma and scoring as well.
The aggressive Uganda Cranes striker has 8 goals to his goal account, just two shy of the league top scorer, Daniel ‘Muzeyi’ Sserunkuma, who has 10 goals now.
Senkatuka will be joined by winger John Kokas Opejo, Brian Enzama, the pint sized albeit intelligent midfielder Mahad Kiseeka, Sula Ssebunza, the hard tackling Jimmy ‘Kachanga’ Kakooza, Innocent Assimwe and goalkeeper Benson Wegema, who stands in for the experienced injured Hamza Muwonge.
The visitors shall look to the fine form of Martin Kizza, scorer of a brace against URA, George Ssenkaaba, Yubu Bogere, Ambrose Kirya, Musa Mukasa, John Adriko and goalkeeper Samson Kirya for the much needed inspiration.
The Jogoos captain Bernard Muwanga faces a stern test of character when he faces a club that baby sat him.
There are two other former Bright Stars players now at SC Villa Jogoo in Joseph Nsubuga and Yubu Bogere.
SC Villa Jogoo is second on the team table standings with 36 points, same as Vipers who have scored more goals.
Bright Stars is currently 9th with 22 points.
