2018 Nairobi Squash Invitational Tourney:
Qualifier:
- Paul Kasirye Kadoma 3-0 Osman Chaudhry
Uganda’s Paul Kasirye Kadoma started off with a 3-0 victory against Oman Chaudhry in the qualifier of the Nairobi Squash invitational tournament on Friday.
Kadoma is one of the four Ugandans at the on-going tourney that will climax on Sunday.
The others are Micheal Raymond, Ian Kajubu Rukunya and Patience Ankunder.
Kawooya opens up the quest with a match against Billy Jusa on Saturday monring.
Rukunya will take on Tejash Joshi and Kadoma will lock horns with Kwach Otto.
Kenya has a lion’s share of players sixty (60) from Eldoret, Nakuru, Mombasa and the host city, Nairobi.
The other invited countries are; Nigeria (with six players), Uganda (four), Rwanda (two) and one player apiece from Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia and the United Kingdom.
According to the tournament director, Yvonne Wangui Machira, there are four catergories that will be vied for at the four-day championship.
The categories include; Open Men and Women, Juniors (U-18), Seniors (Over 35 years), Veterans (Over 45 years) as well as the Vintages (Over 55 years)
The total prize money for the tournament is valued at Kshs 200,000 (at least Ushs 7.9M) with the winner expected to pocket Shs 2.1M.
