Uganda’s CAF Champions League representatives KCCA need to avoid past mistakes and pick a decent result away against Ethiopia’s St. George.

The Kasasiro have lost all their continental away games since last year despite making the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup in 2017.

Ahead of the game against the off form Ethiopian champions, Mike Mutebi’s side has looked a little blunt up front but are in better shape defensively if past results are anything to trust.

KCCA have conceded just three goals in six outings keeping clean sheets in four.

Muzamiru Mutyaba is adamant St. George are not the force they used to be and is confident of a good result.

“We played there in Cecafa (that Uganda Cranes won in 2015) but we were freezing,” he told Daily Monitor. “That said, St George is no longer the intimidating force they were some years ago,” he added.

“We have the advantage of starting well in Addis Ababa and finishing off the job at home where we are yet to lose.

To reach the stage, KCCA eliminated Madagascar’s CNaPS Sport 2-2 on away goals rule after winning 1-0 in Kampala.

They had lost 2-1 away in Madagascar and a result of that kind will be welcome.

KCCA Probable XI

Charles Lukwago (GK), Filbert Obenchan, Timothy Awany, Habib Kavuma, Mustafa Kizza, Isaac Kirabira, Lawrence Bukenya, Muzamiru Mutyaba, Paul Mucureezi, Derrick Nsibambi and Julius Poloto.
