The match had been scheduled for Saturday 10th March 2018.
Accordingly, the above fixtures has been brought forward to be played on Thursday 8th March 2018 at Kakyeka Stadium. Kick off time Changes from 4:00pm to 4:30pm.

Meanwhile, Mbarara City will face visiting Maroons minus their former head coach Ibrahim Kirya who was sacked on Monday, 5th March 2018 over unconvincing results and performance on the field of play.

Kirya had handled the Ankole Lions for six matches, guiding them to two victories in the Uganda Cup, two draws and losses apiece.

The latest 1-0 away defeat to UPDF at the Bombo Military Stadium was the root cause of the woes to the former Uganda Cranes defender.

Earlier, they had also lost 2-0 to Vipers at St Mary’s Kitende as well as drawn with Soana and Police in goalless stalemates.

Kirya was officially ushered in at the Mbarara based club on Friday, 22nd December 2017 after a day long period of successful negotiations during a special function that took place at the roof top of Mbarara Shopping Mall.

Days earlier, he had been sacked at URA Football Club alongside his assistant James Odoch over unconvincing results.

Odoch is now at another Mbarara based club, Nyamityobora F.C which plays in the second tier league – the FUFA Big League.

Senior players Asuman Kihogo Alishe and goalkeeper Ali Kimera are the two interim head coaches coming to Thursday’s encounter with Maroons at Kakyeka stadium.

Mbarara City is currently in 11th position on the 16 team log with 21 points.
