The development of futsal in Uganda continues to take a promising trend.
From the galas organized back in the days, graduated the first ever Futsal mini league and now the national league which is played every Thursday at the International Futsal Courts in Kisenyi (behind AIDS Information center), Kampala.
With the first round of the league done and dusted, the second stanza of the national league kicked off a couple of weeks ago.
A futsal game has been organized between Typhoons and Parakeets as the CAF Futsal and Beach soccer committee convenes in Uganda on Monday, 26th March 2017 at Protea Hotel, Entebbe.
This committee meeting is indicated to draw key resolutions will be on how to transform this indoor version of football for the better as well as beach soccer development on the African continent.
As fate would dictate this committee is headed by a Ugandan, CAF Executive Committee member and the FUFA President, Moses Magogo.
The delegation of committee members arrived in Uganda on Sunday morning and managed to watch a few games of beach soccer at Lido beach later in the evening.
Monday will present quite a busy schedule with the meeting in the morning, launch of a FUFA Beach soccer facility as well as attending the futsal game between Typhoons and Parakeets in Kisenyi, Mengo – Kampala.
Futsal Association Uganda (FAU) chairman, Hamza Jjunju is excited by the visit of the CAF Committee members on Futsal and Beach soccer;
This is a complete blessing.
Futsal in Uganda has grown steadily and promisingly for the better.
The visit for the futsal committee members from CAF will help us further learn key aspects in technical, organization and general frame of futsal in Uganda.
CAF Secretary General, Amr Fahmy and his deputy Anthony Baffoe are some of the high profile officials from the continental football governing body in the country.
The futsal league in Uganda comprises of 8 clubs.
This is the very first time that the futsal national league is been organized in Uganda.
