Barely 48 hours to the flag off the 2018 Airtel Kabaka Birthday run, there is more excitement, vigor and steam.

From individual ticket buyers, institutions, philanthropists like Bryan White to companies, Sports Club Villa Jogoo has led the bandwagon of sports teams to secure tickets for the prestigious run.

On Friday morning, the record league winners (16 titles under the belt) bought tickets worthy Shs. 500,000, delivered by the Buganda Kingdom sports, leisure and recreational minister, Owek. Henry Ssekabembe Kiberu.

Club president Ben Immanuel Misagga bragged;

As the model football club, we lead and others follow.

We have participated in this run for three years in a row as club.

This year round, we are back to take part as we support the sickle cell disease fight.

Ssekabembe appreciated SC Villa Jogoo for the kind gesture;

Club officials, players and fans will take part in the run which will be held on Sunday, 8th April 2018.

The development comes days after Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) also bought tickets worthy Shs. 2M for the run.

Over 20,000 participants will take part in the 5km, 10km, 21km and 25km races will be flagged off in Lubiri Mengo at 6 am.

His Majesty the Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, like he has done since inception will flag off the run.
