Uganda Christian University (UCU) overcame visiting Gulu University 4-0 in a Group A duel of the 2018 University Football League in Mukono on Thursday.

Jerome Ssemambo led the goal galore with a brace.

He gave the hosts the lead on the 35th minute mark as they took a slim 1-0 lead heading to the mandatory halftime break.

Ssemambo was once again on the mark, stretching the lead twelve minutes into the second half.

Ten minutes later Kaye Kizito made it 3-0 before Barigye Muzeifu capped the icing on the already baked cake with 8 minutes left on the clock.

Meanwhile, action continues on Friday with another Group A match when Bugema University hosts Kumi University.

On Wednesday, Busitema shocked Nkumba University 2-0 in Busitema during a Group B encounter. Captain Joshua “Kaka” Kakara and Julius Ndeke scored for Abdul Musisi’s coached side.

The University Football League is popularly known for drawing large numbers of fans and a platform to unearth fresh talents on board.
