- St. George (Eth) 1-0 CARA (Congo)

Robert Odongkara’s St. George drew first blood in the first leg of the playoff of the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup with a slim 1-0 victory over Congo’s CARA.
The Ethiopian side, eliminated by KCCA in the CAF Champions League had Adane Girma to thank for the solitary strike with twelve minutes to the final whistle.
The hosts were dominant but didn’t create as many goal scoring chances just like they did against the Ugandan champions when they bowed out the continent’s most lucrative club competition.
St. George survived in the final minutes of the game when Cabwey Kivutuka overhead kick strike was collected by Kidus Giorgis’s Ugandan goalie Robert Odongkara.
The two sides face off in the decider in Brazzaville on April 18 with the winner qualifying for the group stages.
