Egypt side Al Masry became one of the first clubs to reach the group stages of the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup.

Al Masry, conquerors of Emmanuel Okwi’s Simba in the previous round won 2-1 at home against Gabon’s CF Mounana to eliminate the Gabonese 3-2 on aggregate.

Elsewhere, Algerian giants USM Alger pummeled Nigeria’s Plateau United 4-0 to advance 5-2 on aggregate, DR Congo side AS Vita won 5-1 away to La Mancha while sleeping giants CF Mounana of Ivory Coast are back in the group stages despite drawing goalless away to CR Belouizdad.

Fight continues

Action in the competition continues on Wednesday with a number of high profile games across the continent.

Amongst them, Kenya’s Gor Mahia visit South Africa’s SuperSport United with a draw enough to seal a place in the last 16, St. George will be away to CARA of Congo while Yanga visit Wolaitta Dicha of Ethiopia in Addis.

Rwanda’s Rayon Sport visit Mali’s AC Djoliba while El Hilal of Sudan play away to UD Songo of Mozambique
