Mbarara City jumped from second from bottom of the Uganda Premier League to 12th with a cagey 2-1 win over visitors Bul at Kakyeeka on Wednesday.

Swaliki Bebe Segujja and Emmanuel Obina scored for the Ankole Lions in the first and second half respectively while Jean Pierre Kimberly scored Bul’s only goal.

Bebe made sure the two teams were separated going into the break with a goal at the death of half time but Kimberly equalised twenty minutes after the break.

The hosts then held on for maximum points that moves their tally to 26 after 24 games played while Bul remain 9th with three points better.

Elsewhere on the day, another relegation candidate Masavu won 1-0 against Soana at Bugonga but stay bottom of the log with 23 points.
