Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club manager Mike Hillary Mutebi believes his team has the impetus and experience to progress for the semi finals of this year’s Uganda Cup tournament.

KCCA is the reining cup holders and they travel to the intimidating Boma play ground in Hoima Municipality to face FUFA Big league side, Kitara Football Club.

Mutebi, while addressing journalists during the pre match press conference at Kati Kati Restaurant in Kampala, assured the media that KCCA F.C has the status quo prior to facing the Big league side, Kitara.

We are a top tier club. We have enough players to negotiate them despite the fact that we have had a bad patch of late. We are hopeful that we shall progress to the next level really.

On KCCA’s opponents, Mutebi has the belief that Kitara will rise to the occassion since they have a few experienced players on their ranks;

They some experienced players and verymany young enthusiastic players; most of them from West Nile. I have always said West Nile is a good region that exports players to so many clubs in this country. We have been following them since last year. KCCA has a good scouting system as we traverse the whole country. We know they stopped Express for the last years but we have the character to face such teams.

About the playing field, which is all barren and very dry, Mutebi has no excuses what so ever;

These are the playing fields that we have in Uganda. The playing field should not arise an excuse for sure. Most of the players if not all players at KCCA have played on such bare surfaces. We have also played on such grounds in friendly matches and ready for the the Hoima field too.

KCCA is most likely to miss two of their inspirational players in Julius Poloto and Allan Okello for the game because they are part of the Uganda U-20 team that has entered residential camp at the African Bible University in preparation for Uganda’s return leg of the CAF U-20 Championship qualifier with South Sudan in Juba.

Mutebi, without mincing words casts the blame game to FUFA competitions department for the poor planning of the fixture;

I need my players. They are inspirational and instrumental to my team. I need them around. They will play for KCCA. Its club first

KCCA will travel to Hoima on the eve of the match.
