Muhammad Shaban’s first half goal was all KCCA Football Club needed to beat FUFA Big League side Kitara Football Club in the Uganda Cup on Saturday.

Shaban was on target inside ten minutes at Boma Grounds in Hoima to send the Cup holders to the semifinals of the oldest competition in the country.

Former Kira Young and Express midfielder Derrick Tekkwo and Oscar Munihuri had a chances for Kitara while forward Roger Raymon Willa troubled the Kasasiro defense manned by Timothy Awany and forced a save from Tom Ikara who was between the sticks.

However, Mike Mutebi’s men held on to become the first side to advance to the semifinal.

The quarterfinals continue on Sunday, April 22 with Kampala Junior Team playing host to SC Villa at Lugogo.
