Phillip Kasozi returned the best total gross score of two –over par 218 in 54 holes over three days to win the professional category of the 2018 CBA Golf tournament at Uganda Golf Club in Kampala.

Right from day one, Kasozi showed the intent to win scoring one under par 71 to take the famous day one leader bragging rights.

On Day two, Fred Wanzala overtook him with a phenomenal level par 72 score to take charge of the leaderboard.

The final day witnessed Kasozi make a remarkable comeback, playing level par to finish with a total of 218, two over in 54 holes.

Abbey Bagalana finished runner up with 223, a stroke better of the Deo Akope and Herman Mutawe who tied for 224.

Entebbe based professional Vincent “Araali” Byamukama was fifth with 225, one stroke better of sixth placed Saidi Mawa.

Towering Dennis Anguyo, Gideon Kagyenzi and Flavia Namakula completed the two ten professionals who made the treasured cut to partake of the total Shs. 10M kitty staked by the sponsors, Commercial Bank of Africa.

Meanwhile, in the main event, Uganda National team golf captain Becca Mwanja and Wendy Angudeyo won the men and ladies’ overall titles respectively.

Mwanja scored 42 stable ford points as Angudeyo returned to the club house a total of 37 points.

Both winners were rewarded by a Hisense Television set each, by the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) CBA, Joseph Malugu.

Over 100 golfers took part in the three day’s championship.
