Rayon Sports Coach Ivan Minneart says his side are not scared of their opponents in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup group stages.

The Rwanda reigning league champions drew fellow East Africans Gor Mahia (Kenya), Yanga (Tanzania) and Algeria’s USM Algers in group D as per the draw held on Saturday in Cairo, Egypt.

“What we need is a strong start and to win our three home games,” said Minneart as quoted by The Times of Rwanda. “We are not scared of any of our opponents, especially since we know most of them,” he added.

We will do all we can to win the games at home and then try to get more points away from home.

Rayon Sports eliminated Mozambican side CD Costa do Sol 3-2 on aggregate after winning 3-0 at home and lost 2-0 away from home.

They kick off their group campaign at home to Kenya giants Gor Mahia on May 6 and the Belgian; former tactician with Kenya’s AFC Leopards highlights the importance of starting with a win.

It is important that we win our first game as this would boost our confidence.

In their ranks, K’Ogalo has two Rwanda international strikers Meddie Kagere and Jacques Tuyisenge in their ranks.
