Katwe United’s march to the country’s second tier league, the FUFA Big League continued on Sunday with a win 2-1 over Kisugu United.

The game played at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo saw the side that topped the Cobra Group with 39 points scored twice in the first half without reply.

In the second half of the well-attended clash, Kisugu United pulled on back but Isma Kintu’s side held on for a historic victory.

Club Chairman and Makindye West Member of Parliament, Allan Ssewanyana couldn’t hide his joy over the achievement he labeled tremendous.

“It’s a tremendous achievement,” he said. “Credit goes to the management, fans, players, technical staff and well-wishers who have contributed to this success,” he added.

Katwe United remains one single hurdle where they face Buganda region champion for a slot to the coveted FUFA Big League.
