
Former KCCA midfielder Ivan Ntege was optimistic his side could hold on for all points as his new bosses Township Rollers won 1-0 in the opening game of their group A game.
Ntege, who was instrumental in the centre of the pack and involved in the move that led to the winner however admitted there was so much pressure in the second half.
“In football, every team will get chances just like they did in the second half,” he said. “But I never thought they would score when we took the lead,” he added.
“In the second half, they pushed us and we could feel the pressure but thank God we held on.
Ntege was impressed with the KCCA young squad and feels they are going to do well in the near future and he wished them well.
“My boys (KCCA) are good. They should keep pushing and pushing. May God bless them? I wish them well.
Asked whether there was pre-match talk from his former teammates ahead of the game, Ntege said; “We have been talking and they told we are coming for you, my response was always am ready.
Township Rollers and Ntege visit Esperance in their next game while KCCA will host record CAF Champions league winners Al Ahly in ten days’ time.
