KCCA manager Mike Mutebi admitted Township Rollers were more effective than his side in the 1-0 loss in Gaborone.

Both sides had good chances but Lemponye Tshireletso made the difference with a strike in the 36th minute to earn the Botswana side opening day maximum points.

“It was a good game as I expected,” said Mutebi when asked about the overall assessment of the game. “Generally, it was a good balanced game and I think it was good for the spectators to watch because you could see both teams trying to move forward,” he added before revealing where they lost it.

“I thought Township Rollers were more effective than us. They created a few chances and put one away. We did create ours but we were not effective.

KCCA have now lost eight away continental games since last year drawing only once.
