
La Liga champions FC Barcelona have confirmed the match against Mamelodi Sundowns days after the Masandawa announced they would face the Spanish giants.
The European giants agreed to play the exhibition game at FNB Stadium on May 16 aimed at celebrating what would have been the iconic Nelson Mandela’s 100th birthday
The Mandela Centenary Cup fixture between South Africa Premier Soccer League champions Sundowns and Barcelona promises to be a spectacle for ardent football lovers.

According to a statement released on the club’s official website, the fixture organised by the South African Football Association (SAFA) together with LaLiga World Challenge will kick off at 18:15 local time.
FC Barcelona will be playing its part in the events to commemorate what would have been Nelson Mandela’s one hundredth birthday as they travel to South Africa for a friendly game on May 16 against ABSA Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
It will be Barcelona’s second visit to South Africa and their last visit was in 2007 for a friendly in Pretoria, also against the Mamelodi Sundowns. The Catalans won that game 2-1 thanks to goals from Santi Ezquerro and Marc Crosas.
Mamelodi Sundowns is home to Uganda Cranes goalkeeper and captain Denis Onyango and he is expected to play part in the game.
