Experienced Egyptian defender Ahmed Fathi leads the cast of Al Ahly players already in Kampala for CAF Champions League duty against KCCA.

The two sides face off on Tuesday at Namboole with either seeking to pick their first maximum points of the campaign.

Coach Hossam El-Badry also included midfielder Amr Soleya and defender Saad Samir who missed the draw with Esperance on match day one.

Also on the team are three national team players who were in the Egypt team at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Goalkeeper Sherif Ekrami, defender Saad Samir and centre forward Marwan Mohsen.

But the record African champions are without Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi because of a calf strain that sidelined him in the last game.

Al Ahly last won the champions league crown in 2013 but lost in the final 2-1 on aggregate to Moroccan side Wydad de Casablanca.

They won this year’s Egyptian league title with six matches to spare but were knocked out of the Egypt Cup quarterfinals.

Ahly 18-man squad:

Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekrami, Mohamed El-Shennawi.

Defenders: Saad Samir, Mohamed Naguib, Ahmed Fathi, Mohamed Hani, Sabri Rahil, Bassem Ali.

Midfielders: Amr Soleya, Walid Soliman, Ahmed Hamoudi, Mido Gaber, Hossam Ashour, Eslam Mohareb, Phakamani Mahlambi, Ahmed Hamdi.

Forward: Salah Mohsen, Marwan Mohsen.
