
Uganda Rugby Cranes’ friendly matches against South African side, Cheetahs have been postponed.
The Rugby Cranes were scheduled to face the Cheetahs on May 16 and 19 but the matches have now been rescheduled for May 30 and June 2.
Uganda Rugby Union has not yet officially made the communication of the changes, but it’s reported that the engagements have been rescheduled to test the team after the first leg of the Elgon Cup scheduled for May 26 in at Legends Rugby Grounds.
The Cranes played South African Barbarians in two matches as assistant coach Robert Sseguya used a few fresh faces in the friendlies.
With several players out of contention in the international season, fresh ones are expected to fight for places on the final 35-man squad that will feature in the Africa Gold Cup.
Uganda will start their Gold Cup campaign against Namibia in Windhoek on June 16 before visiting Nairobi on July 7 for a clash with Simbas, which will also double as the return leg of the Elgon Cup.
