For now, the fate of 23 referees from Uganda remains unknown concerning the status for the 2019 FIFA badges.

The local football governing body, Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) submitted the names to the world’s parent body, Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) to be taken into consideration.

According to the chairperson of the Uganda Football Referees Association (URFA), Ronnie Kalema, the 23 referees were considered after the mandatory fitness tests and final approval by the FUFA Executive committee.

FIFA now has the right to allocate the number of referees who will hold the treasured badges for the year 2019.

Currently Uganda has 21 International referees.
