Sports Club Villa remains the only side yet to win a game in the Uganda Premier League after 8 matches.

The Jogoos twice lost the lead during a two-all draw with Tooro United at a fully packed Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal in the only game played on Wednesday.

Desperate to earn their first maximum points in the game, Moses Basena’s charges took the lead

On a water-logged playing surface following the earlier rains, stocky forward Bashir Mutanda rose high and above Ayub Kizza to nod home Ambrose Kirya’s teasing delivery from the left as early as the 12th minute.

There were a couple of half chances by the two sides but not further goal by the half time break.

Baker Buyala, Allan Kayiwa and Simon Sserunkuma largely troubled the Villa backline butgoalkeeper Brian Bwete, Shafik Bakaki and Habib Kavuma remained solid.

For the visiting side, Albert Mugisa, Pius Wangi and Mutanda were put under control by Mike Kawooya and company in the Tooro United defence.

Upon restart of the second half, Tooro United energized their efforts and found the equalizer through Allan Kayiwa with a great turn and shoot effort on the hour mark.

Quickly, SCVilla restored their lead through former Vipers forward Pius Wangi who was at the right place in the right timing to tap home a spilled ball from goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa in the 65th minute.

By this time, there was dead silence around the stadium as the Jogoos once again took command of the game.

The goal scoring business continued when Tooro United left back Isa Mubiru stabbed the ball home through a forest of legs past Bwete following a goal melee.

Tooro United missed taking the lead for the first time in the game as second half substitute Alex Ssemuyaba who had replaced Baker Buyala missed from close range with the Villa goalie beaten.

For the remaining minutes, either sides pushed for a killer meanwhile remaining cautious.
