Abraham Ndugwa says scoring goals gives him confidence but puts team above self.

The former captain at Masavu FC (now Entebbe) scored the winner against El Merriekh that booked the team a place in the first round of the Caf Champions League.

“The most important thing is the team won,” said Ndugwa in a post-match press conference.

“Of course the goal gives me confidence but I’m happier because the team won.

Vipers SC was dominated for large parts of the game and despite progression, the performance was questionable but Ndugwa says the team had a strategy to score early.

“We had a strategy of scoring in the opening 20 minutes, and then after it failed, we chose our moments.

Ndugwa who also scored in the 3-1 win over SC Villa in the league believes the team can get better and go far if they play under the coach’s instructions.

“If we continue playing to the coach’s instructions and working together, we shall go far.The Venoms next task at hand in the competition is a tie against Algeria’s Constantine.
