Holding midfielder – cum-defender Edward “Capi Ramo” Satro has played three successive finals in the Airtel Buganda Masaza football championship.

On two occasions, Satro, a midfielder standing at 6.1 feet has won this crowd pulling championship twice and lost once.

In the year 2016, Satro inspired Gomba to the finals of the treasured tourney, but sadly fell short, losing 6-5 in a tense penalty shoot to eventual winners Buddu after normal time had ended one goal apiece.

DefenderLawrence Ssonko (now in Germany) headed home Gomba’s equalizer to cancel Robert Mukongohtya’s opener.

Mukongoktya is now plying his trade with Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club in the Star Times Uganda Premier League.

During the two subsequent editions, Satro guided Gomba and Ssingo to the championship in2017 and 2018 respectively.

Currently playing in the third-tier league (Buganda Regional league) with Kakiri Town Council Football Club in the Katonga group, Satro is focused for better buttered bread.

I am set for bigger challenges in life. I want to elevate to the Uganda Premier League since I already proved in the three seasons I featured in the Airtel Masaza Football Championship, reaching three finals as captain and winning two trophies as well. Since the Masaza rules do not allow players who have graduated to the Big league and super division, i am ready to work my way up and use the Masaza as a stepping stone.

Satro started the footballing business way back in the year 2004 while still at primary school (P4) at Wobulenzi public school.

He then played for the school team as a midfielder and sometimes in defence.

In the later years, Satro was a regular figure on the Mulusa Academy, Wobulenzi school team for all the six years in O and A level grades.

He has played at Kazo based KASE Football Club and another Buganda region entity Busula F.C.

Already, there are offers that have been tabled in his midst from four top tier sides in the Uganda Premier League.

Maroons, BUL, Vipers, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and Express have openly expressed interest in acquiring the well built midfielder best known for his awesome ball winning attributes, passing and balance of play.

My representative has been approached by a number of clubs in the Uganda Premier League and FUFA Big League. At the moment, I would personally prefer the top tier. Anyway, let us pray for the better negotiations.

His coach at Ssingo last season Shafiq Bisaso has belief in the player and terms the decision for him to graduate as long over due.

Edward Satro has the ability to play in the top tier division. First of all, he is disciplined, hard-working and always willing to learn. We have also encouraged him to graduate from the Masaza cup tournament since he is well structured and has the ball sense. However, it is advisable he tries the less pressured clubs than title seeking clubs which will demand and expect a lot from him. Given his age and experience, the pressure may be too much for him to handle
