It is a great honour to be recognized and I am humbled to receive this monthly award. I want to keep working hard to win more similar awards and also become the best player in the country by the end of the season

Uganda Premier League board chairperson Arinaitwe Rugyendo congratulated the winners as he lauded the sponsor for the continued commitment.

He also appreciated the media for promoting the game. He briefly hinted on the tricky situation where muslim players and coaches have continued to turn down the accolades.

I wish to thank Uganda Breweries Limited for this sponsorship. I thank the media for promoting the game. We are also very concerned by the fact that some coaches and players have continued to decline the awards when picked. But, at the same time, we are in a catch 22 situation. We need the sponsors to keep the game running. When you look around, this league has been previously sponsored by betting firms and beer companies. It is a right of a person to withdraw. We are trying our level best to come up with a win-win situation.
