Uganda Premier League debutants Ndejje University Football Club played to a one all draw with visiting Sports Club at the Arena of Visions on a wet surface.
The home side captain Raymond Odokonyero headed past goalkeeper Samuel Kivumbi for the lead on the opening quarter hour mark.
The towering defender was well positioned to punish Kivumbi who fluffed the ball played from an Emmanuel Wasswa free-kick.
Sports Club Villa found the equalizer in the 60thminute through live wire striker Bashir Mutanda with a fierce shot past goalkeeper Eric Kibowa.
Mutanda capitalized on a defensive lapse between defenders Edward Kabona and Odokonyero.
