A couple of active Uganda Cranes players will be part of the charity match as musician Eddie Kenzo select team alongside two time African footballer of the year El Hadji Diouf faces the FUFA President’s XI at Lugogo this Friday.

The latest players to confirm participation are strikers Yunus ‘Manucho’ Sentamu and Brian Umony.

Currently on holiday, Sentamu plies his professional trade with KF Tirana in Albania as Umony remains a free agent after his Indian expedition last season.

Sure. I will grace the match after my brother Eddie Kenzo invited me to be part of the charity duel with the FUFA President’s XI. It will also be a big privilege to be on the same side with El Hadji Diouf. It is a moment to cherish and be proud of at the same time

Sentamu’s other teammate at KF Tirana Tonny Mawejje is the other high profile name on the team sheet for Eddie Kenzo’s select team that will don the treasured Wakiso Giants FC jersey.

Retired David Obua, Willy Kyambadde, Farouk Miya, Geofrey ‘Baba’ Kizito, Yunus Sentamu, William Luwagga Kizito, a couple of Wakiso Giants players will also play for Kenzo alongside the guest player, El Hadji Diouf.

El Hadji Diouf owns a state of art gymnasium in Dakar, Senegal. He will visit Uganda on invitation of musician Eddie Kenzo and Wakiso Giants F.C

El Hadji Diouf’s visit to Uganda has been facilitated by Wakiso Giants F.C alongside Kenzo who will be celebrating 10 years of music on the same night.

Meanwhile, the FUFA President’s XI will be captained by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations boss Moses Magogo.

FUFA Chief Executive Officer, Edgar Watson leads the cast of retired players on Magogo’s side.

Others are goalkeeper Sadiq Wassa, Hakim ‘Boda Boda’ Magumba, Alex Isabirye, Edward Kalungi, Paul Mukatabala, Hassan ‘Figo Ow’emmamba’ Mubiru, Fred Tamale, Ayub Balyejusa, Lawrence Kizito and Phillip Ssozi among others.

The two time African footballer of the year in 2001 and 2002 will arrive into the country on Thursday, 3rd January 2019 at Entebbe International Airport where he will be accorded VIP reception.

This is a big moment for Uganda’s football as a high profile former player visits. He will network with the Ugandans. Also, it a plat form for Eddie Kenzo to give back to thousands of his fans in Uganda at a time he will be performing live at Serena in the night. Remember entrance to the match is entirely free of charge.

For starters, Wakiso Giants Football Club, a FUFA Big league entity has played a big role in the visit of El Hadji Diouf visit to Uganda.

El Hadji Diouf is an Ex-international for Senegal and was instrumental in the country’s quarter final performance at the 2002 FIFA World Cup in South Korea and Japan.

He featured in a number of clubs including Nantes, Liverpool, Bolton Wanderers, Black Burn among others.
