Boldly speaking majority of the Uganda Premier League clubs will naturally be expected to negotiate through to the Uganda Cup round of 16 by mere taking a paper look at the draws for the round of 32.

Like the case was during the round of 64, ‘big’ clubs have once again drawn to play against paper-weight opposition at the stage of 32.

This was confirmed after the draws for the round of 32 held on Thursday, 3 January 2019 at the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) headquarters in Mengo, Kampala.

Uganda Cranes legends Paul Ssali and Robert Aloro, sponsor’s representative (Phiona Ssemugoma), a couple of club officials and the media were part of the the FUFA Competitions director Aisha Nalule.

The cup holders KCCA make the tricky trip to Fort Portal to face Tooro United, Vipers face Big League side Kansai Plascon, URA hosts division side third Synergy and Sports Club Villa will face yet another third division club, Nkambi Coffee, away in Masaka.

Meanwhile, Fred Kajoba’s Bright Stars will make the away trip to Bundibungyo to face Bumate United as Asaph Mwebaze’s Nyamityobora entertains Proline in Mbarara.

The dates for the round of 32 matches will be between 11th and 17th January 2019 across the different venues in the country. The format of play at this stage is knock out with the successful clubs making the grade to the round of 16 stage.
